At Ingatestone and Fryerning C of E Junior School, we believe that even the smallest actions can make a big difference. Through our commitment to courageous advocacy, we encourage children to recognise injustice, show compassion and take positive action to support others in their local, national and global communities.
Our School Council gives pupils a voice in school life and provides opportunities for them to lead change and make a meaningful contribution to our community. Children also support a range of charities throughout the year, learning about important causes and how they can help those in need.
Our House System has a special connection with Kenya, following a visit by Mrs Bhula to a partner school that we support. Through fundraising initiatives led by our pupils, we have helped provide resources for the school, including funding their first ever computer, helping to create new opportunities for learning and communication.
The children are passionate about finding creative ways to help others. One of their favourite initiatives is making and selling handmade bracelets during a fundraising week at the end of each term. These events allow children to take ownership of their charitable work, demonstrating kindness, generosity and a desire to make a positive difference in the world around them.
By encouraging children to speak up, take action and serve others, we aim to nurture a lifelong commitment to fairness, justice and compassion, empowering them to become responsible citizens who can make a difference both now and in the future.
