Science
We are passionate about inspiring children to become curious, confident and enthusiastic scientists. Our science curriculum encourages children to ask questions, explore ideas and develop a sense of awe and wonder about the world around them.
We cover all areas of the National Curriculum for Science, while planning and delivering a bespoke curriculum that reflects the needs, interests and experiences of our pupils. Our two-year rolling programme ensures that children develop a secure and progressive understanding of scientific knowledge and skills throughout their time at our school.
Wherever possible, science is taught through a fun, practical and hands-on approach. Children are encouraged to investigate, observe, predict, test, explore and draw conclusions from their own experiences. We believe that giving children opportunities to ‘do’ science helps them to develop a deeper understanding and remember what they have learned.
We aim to challenge all our pupils to think scientifically, make connections between different areas of learning and apply their knowledge in new and exciting contexts. Through our science curriculum, we nurture natural curiosity and encourage children to question, discover and develop a lifelong fascination with the world around them.
