Children will receive weekly spelling, comprehension and maths homework to support and reinforce the learning that takes place in school.

Maths homework consists of 30 minutes on Maths-Whizz alongside a written worksheet. This will be set and collected every Wednesday. (Maths worksheet homework will commence Wednesday 23rd September)

Comprehension homework will be set every Tuesday and should be completed and returned by the following Tuesday. (Answers are provided at the back of the book)

We ask that parents and carers support their child by marking homework at home, using the answers provided where appropriate. Homework should be brought into school already marked. This process helps children to reflect on their learning, recognise and correct mistakes, and develop greater independence and responsibility for their work. Once returned, teachers will review the completed homework to assess pupils' understanding, identify strengths and any misconceptions, and use this information to help focus and inform future learning in school.

A Homework Club is available in school on Friday lunchtimes for any children who would like additional support with their homework.

The worksheets will be available to download and print below. Alternatively, you can view it online and simply write the answers on a named piece of paper to bring in when due.

Spelling: Group 1 will receive 10 weekly spellings to learn, group 2 has 15 spellings and group 3 has 20 spellings. It is vital children learn their spelling in order for them to make progress with their writing and achieve age-related expectations. Every time the class all achieve at least half of their spellings correct, they will earn a class token towards a class treat! See below for a spelling menu with some innovative ways to learn spellings. The final week before half-term will be a random spelling check based on the half-termly patterns studied.
