It has been a pleasure to welcome all the children to Class Iceland in September, and they have all been excited about starting the new school year. Everyone has settled in really well and brought energy, enthusiasm and positivity to the classroom and their learning. The children have quickly become familiar with the class and school routines and are already making great progress in all areas of their school life. New friendships have been formed, while strong relationships are also developing with key adults across the school. All of this will help to ensure a positive, happy and successful year for everyone!
As an introduction to Iceland, the children have been learning about the geography, lifestyle and culture of this fascinating country. They have then been encouraged to explore Iceland further through our first Creative Homework challenge of the year. This has provided the opportunity to share their newly learnt knowledge with family at home, whilst researching more information. The Icelandic flag was used to represent our goals and aspirations for the year ahead, creating a colourful and welcoming display in our classroom window for visitors to see.
