Our bespoke curriculum is carefully designed to place learning in meaningful contexts. Using the National Curriculum as a framework, we deliver learning through thematic approaches that engage pupils, motivate them, and encourage continued learning beyond the classroom. We aim to meet individual needs and ensure that every child, regardless of ability, experiences success.

A variety of teaching approaches are used, including whole-class instruction, group and individual work, hands-on experiences and research-based learning. Lessons are designed to be purposeful, relevant and stimulating. Pupils are taught in mixed-age classes, supported by a two-year rolling programme to ensure clear progression across key stages.

We maintain strong transition links with both the local Infant School and the Anglo European Secondary School to ensure continuity in learning. The school also has close ties with the parish churches of Ingatestone and Fryerning, with Canon Lee visiting regularly to lead weekly acts of Collective Worship. Religious Education is taught in line with guidance from the Chelmsford Diocesan Education Committee.
